WhatsApp: How to remove the ‘Archived’ chatbox from the top of the Android
If the Archived box appears at the top of the screen, it says that all of your archived chats will always be hidden and that you will never get a new message from them.
The Archived chatbox on WhatsApp appears at the top of the screen, which may disturb some users. WhatsApp will display a number in the same box when you receive new messages from archived chats, informing you of the unread messages. You may have noticed a number beside the word "Archived." It shows how many unread messages are in archived individual or group chats.

How to Remove the Archived Box from the Top of WhatsApp on Android
Step 1:
On your smartphone, open WhatsApp and tap the Archived box, which is now at the top of the screen. WhatsApp will then display all of your previously archived talks.
Step 2:
Tap on the three-dotted icon. It is on the right of the “Archived” text. Tap again on “Archive settings.”
Step 3:
Disable the “Keep Chats Archived” option. After disabling it, the Archived box will disappear from the top of the screen.

Disabling this option would mean that archived individual or group chats won’t stay archived when you receive a new message from that individual or group chat. If you want them to remain archived, then you shouldn’t disable the “Keep Chats Archived” option.
